    Financial Results – Year ended 31st December 2010

    In 2010, Focus Pharmaceuticals delivered a 44% growth in turnover to £24.4m and a 17% growth in gross profit to £4.9m.

    Overall operating profit increased by 37% to £1.5m, and profit before tax increased by 40% to £1.4m.

    The investment in new product development and marketing, sales and distribution of third party products have both helped deliver this impressive growth in 2010.

    Focus Pharmaceuticals is pleased to announce it has donated over £50,000 of essential medicines to International Health Partners UK and the World Health organisation for use in disaster relief operations.

    Interim Financial Results - 6 months to 30th June 2010 (unaudited)

    Focus continued to grow in the First Half of 2010 and showed huge growth in turnover and gross profit compared to the first 6 months of 2009. The main financial highlights for the first half of 2010 compared to last year were:

    - Turnover growth of 65%

    - Gross profit growth of 34%

    - Operating profit is up 259%

    Focus is now at a stage where it has in place nearly all the infrastructure that it needs to grow, so almost all the incremental profit gained from new product launches are crystallised into operating profit.

    The new launch of products that we have received approval for this year will help to extend this growth in the second half of 2010.

    New Product Launch - Benzydamine 0.15% Oromucosal Spray

    Focus is pleased to announce the launch of another unique generic, Benzydamine 0.15% Oral Spray x 30ml. This is the first generic competitor to the brand Difflam® on the UK market. The registration of this locally acting, topical product, demonstrates Focus's ability to successfully develop complex speciality generic pharmaceuticals.

    New Product Launches - Diclofenac Potassium 50mg Tablets and Nifedipine 30mg & 60mg XL Tablets

    The introduction of these two products further strengthens Focus’s portfolio of semi-exclusive products on the UK market.

    Focus's Diclofenac Potassium 50mg Tablets is only the second generic product on the UK market as a competitor to the brand Voltarol Rapid.

    Nifedipine 30mg & 60mg XL Tablets will be sold by Focus under the brand name Adacium.

    New Product Launch - Clindamycin 150mg/ml solution for injection or infusion

    Focus is delighted to announce the launch of Clindamycin 150 mg/ml Solution for Injection or Infusion.

    This product is available in both 300 mg/2ml Ampoules and 600 mg/4ml Ampoules and is sold in packs of five.

    This product is the second generic competitor, in the UK, to DalacinĀ® C Phosphate Sterile Solution 150 mg/ml, and is formulated without preservative, as per current EU guidelines on the use of preservatives such as benzyl alcohol.

    This product introduction shows Focus's commitment to lowering prescribing costs through increased competition.

    Financial Results - Year ended 31st December 2009

    In 2009, Focus Pharmaceuticals Limited delivered a 30% growth in turnover to £17m and a 24% growth in gross profit to £4.2m.

    Overall operating profit increased by 106% to £1.1m, and profit before tax increased by 126% to £1m.

    The profitability of the business is now in the growth phase and is really starting to benefit from the licence approvals gained and continued tight control of expenditure.

    The increased activity of the New Product Development team is a result of increased investment, and the bolstering of the internal infrastructure of the business.

    Focus Pharmaceuticals donates in excess of £250,000 to Haiti Disaster Relief Operation

    Focus Pharmaceuticals is pleased to announce it has donated over £250,000 of essential medicines to the Haiti Disaster Relief Operation. By working with International Health Partners UK and the World Health Organisation, Focus ensured that the correct medicines were shipped to Haiti as quickly as possible to the areas of the greatest need.
